About the CPD course
This PowerPoint presentation is called Ability@Work: Understanding Intellectual Disabilities in the Workplace. It is offered both online and in person; to a diverse range of companies/businesses. These sessions educate employers to promote inclusive recruitment practises. The content includes the foundations history; tips on correct language used for differently-abled people; inclusive recruitment and a person-cantered approach. It highlights the role of a job coach onsite and how a job coach supports both the employer and the employee. Participants from Ability@Works Ability-Board are an integral part of this presentation.
Ability@Work is a dedicated supported employment service which aims to bring young people with intellectual disabilities and /or autism closer to the labour market. This programme assists jobseekers at key transition points between education, training and employment.
This funded programme is available to young people 18-29 years.
