Prevention First

An online training programme called ‘Prevention First’. The training is designed specifically for all healthcare staff - from front desk workers to GPs. The four-part training provides staff with the skills to understand how to identify escalating behaviours; establish a common language across departments and recognise when to call for additional help. This interactive programme contains unique video scenarios that helps illustrate appropriate staff responses that may help to de-escalate crisis situations. Key elements include: What’s behind the behaviour; Identifying escalating behaviour and appropriate staff responses; Self-regulation strategies; Course assessment. This programme meets the NHS Conflict Resolution Learning Outcomes.
