The overall aim of this training is to understand how an experience of sexual abuse affects the child in the short term and its impact across the life cycle. We aim to increase the learner’s confidence and assurance on how to respond to disclosures of Child Sexual Abuse within ones work role and how best to support employees who are impacted by sexual abuse and abusive relationships. All our training is conducted in a sensitive and non-judgmental manner; emphasising the importance of confidentiality and support for survivors of child sexual abuse.

Every year in Northern Ireland there are thousands of sexual abuse and abusive relationship offences reported to police, and thousands more go unreported. The supports and services that Nexus provide are primarily focused on enabling positive change for those impacted by sexual abuse and abusive relationships.
