About the CPD course

This course is for primary school teachers and teaching assistants to enhance understanding of oral language; why good language skills are so important and how NELI supports their development. By the end of this course; participants will be able to: Explain the critical importance of having good language in the Early Years and how this can be supported by NELI. Identify a range of receptive and expressive language skills and reflect on their development. Describe the structure of NELI; how to deliver it; and how to identify children for the programme.
