About the CPD course
This training package is intended to raise awareness of the conditions of PANS and PANDAS to Educators working across a diverse range of Educational Settings and roles; The content explores these neuropsychiatric syndromes including the diagnostic criteria and identifying impacted C/YP within a diverse range of presentations; It also includes discussion about the roles and responsibilities of educators; and the importance of providing appropriate educational accommodations; On completion; participants are expected to be able to demonstrate their pedagogical understanding towards supporting C/YP suffering from PANS or PANDAS;
PANS is a neuropsychiatric condition which is triggered by a misdirected immune response which results in an inflammation of a child's brain. PANDAS is a subset of PANS. Similarly, it is a neuropsychiatric condition which is triggered by a misdirected immune response to a Streptococcal infection which results in an inflammation of a child's brain.
PANS/PANDAS UK provides support to families of children with PANS/PANDAS. We aim to raise awareness of an easily treated, often misdiagnosed condition in kids.
