This Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) training provides the participants with an understanding of child protection and safeguarding within the multi-agency context and the role and responsibilities of the DSL within this. The course outlines what safeguarding is; the categories of abuse; signs and symptoms; managing and recording concerns and the referral process. The training looks at the Early Help process and the DSL role within this as well as giving guidance on referring to other agencies.
