Sheffield City Council- Sheffield Adult Safeguarding Partnership
About the CPD course
A Safeguarding Adult Reviews (SARs) is undertaken if an adult with care and support needs has died; or seriously harmed and there is information that potentially agencies did not work effectively together and that this could have been a contributing factor. Safeguarding Boards publish the SARs they have undertaken as a way of cascading learning. This course will be using local and national cases to highlight areas of good practice but also areas for development. It is designed to deliver the knowledge; comprehension in relation to SARs and encourage attendees to look at the application of learning.

The Sheffield Adult Safeguarding Partnership was established in 2002 and has developed over this time. In April 2015 it became a legal duty for local authority areas to have an adult safeguarding board (partnership) as a result of The Care Act (2014).
The Sheffield Adult Safeguarding Partnership is a statutory multi-agency forum for agreeing how services, agencies, organisations, businesses and the communities work together to safeguard adults who may be or are at risk of abuse and neglect. It seeks to work closely with and for those people most at risk of harm from abuse and neglect within Sheffield.
