About the CPD course
All school staff should know the definitions of personal data and fair processing; and clearly understand their duties when handling personal information. All staff should be aware of the rules around the reasons for collecting personal data; how that information may be used; and understand when it is not permissible to use the information. This course introduces the key principles and requirements of the Data Protection Act 2018 and the UK GDPR as they apply to schools; colleges and any educational setting in the UK. It also outlines ways to minimise the risk of breaching GDPR and maximise security and protection for students; staff; and the wider school community.
