About the CPD course
50% of households in the UK have a pet. Having a pet brings many positive aspects; such as supporting mental wellbeing and providing companionship. However; there are a few things to consider before introducing a new pet to your foster child or when a foster child comes to live with you. Anticipating the childs and the pets behaviour and establishing rules of interaction are important in setting their relationship up for success. When this happens; it is wonderful to see their bond; as the pet can be a great supportive ally to the foster child.
