About the CPD course

It is essential to understand that the objective of basic life support (BLS) is not to ‘treat’ the person but to buy some valuable time until the emergency medical aid arrives. As it only takes six minutes for the human brain to expire due to lack of oxygen; it is essential to familiarise the BLS procedure which is mainly used on people experiencing cardiac arrest or respiratory failure. Knowing how to help a person is just as crucial in emergencies. Thus; basic first aid is beneficial in providing the right methods of administering medical assistance.
