About the CPD course
African Politics offers a world class introduction to the continent’s political history and present. It teaches the best theoretical and scientific tools for interpreting today’s political climate and equips learners to effectively debate Africa’s contemporary political issues. During the course students will learn how to draft policy instruments for Africa’s economic; social; and developmental challenges. Students will discover the roots of these challenges and learn how to expertly interpret the actions of states; institutions; and civil society. After completing the course students will also be able to recognise and reflect on western theories of government and power while becoming full immersed in African political philosophy and political thought.
The Centre is a school that brings together world leading intellectuals and scholars to empower a new generation of leaders to address the challenge of African union and development.
