About the CPD course

GDPR: A Practical Overview takes a refreshing new approach to data protection in the workplace. The course combines short bursts of learning with practical scenarios and real-life case studies to ensure all staff know how to safely and securely work with data. Interactive scenarios test and score your data protection knowledge as you progress through the training.

This course for all staff includes six short modules suitable for everyone working in a modern organisation:

- Keeping data safe
- Working out of the office
- Data subject rights
- Data breaches

Additional specialist modules for specific job roles and GDPR responsibilities are added to the course based on the user’s responses to the personal course builder. These modules are:

- Overview of UK data protection law (Senior management; team leaders; GC’s; compliance officers) - 5 min
- Data protection for HR professionals (HR officers; recruiters) - 5 min
- Marketing and data protection (Marketers; sales people) - 10 min
- How to be a data protection officer (Senior management; DPO’s; information managers) - 15 min
- Data protection support for IT departments (IT department) - 5 mins
- How to conduct a data privacy impact assessment (Senior management; DPO’s; information managers) - 5 min
- Writing and delivering privacy notices (Marketers; IT department; senior management) - 10 min
- Choosing the right conditions for processing data (Senior management; marketers) - 5 min
