This training course aims to equip healthcare professionals with knowledge and skills for safe venepuncture. It covers anatomy and physiology of skin and blood vessels; legislation and regulatory control; obtaining informed consent from both adults and adolescents; infection prevention and control; and the required equipment; including ANTT. The course provides practical training in capillary sampling and venepuncture techniques using a range of blood collection devices. Ensuring safe and confident venepuncture is crucial to prevent complications for patients. Participants will receive guidance and supervision from experienced clinical nurse educators; enabling them to perform venepuncture effectively and safely; ultimately enhancing patient care.
