A one-day event for teachers of Italian (and potentially other foreign languages) combining workshops and panel presentation. The events will revolve around the theme of diversity in the language classroom in all its aspects: the theme of the geographical; cultural; and linguistic differences within Italy) ; curriculum design: introducing diversity in the language class (movies and books of second-generation immigrants in Italy ; alternative models of family; 'the other" in Italian culture) ; diversity as in differentiation of learning styles for mixed-abilities groups; Italian for the various linguistic groups (heritage speakers; non-European students etc.).
