Holistic Quality Management for the Healthcare Sector
16 Nov 2020
About the event
Healthcare services including Medical laboratories; Imaging and physiological science and affiliated healthcare service providers need to have sound mechanisms to enable them to deliver technically valid services and examination results to their users and patients. When organisations seek to have their competence recognised through accreditation by UKAS these processes should also enable the healthcare providers to demonstrate that they meet the requirements for an effective quality management system (as well as conformance with ISO 15189). This course provides key elements of the Laboratory Internal Audit course and effective Laboratory Management subject matter in relation to healthcare standards.
UKAS is appointed as the national accreditation body by Accreditation Regulations 2009 (SI No 3155/2009) and the EU Regulation (EC) 765/2008. UKAS operates under a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government, through the Secretary of State for Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy.
It is BEIS policy to recommend the use of UKAS accredited conformity assessment services whenever this is an option.
Accreditation determines the technical competence and integrity of organisations offering testing, inspection, calibration, verification and certification services (collectively known as conformity assessment). In short, UKAS ‘checks the checkers’.
