The IPGs 2021 Virtual Spring Conference will explore the future for publishing after a year of tumultuous change. Key areas of focus will include new working models created by Covid and lockdowns; important changes in the way people buy and consumer publishers content; and the evolving use of technology including AI.The Conference will have keynotes from leaders in independent publishing and other industries. It will have workshop-style sessions on social media strategies; negotiation skills; leadership; digital project management; cyber security and more; case studies of starting and growing a publishing business from successful publishers; and speakers on practical; everyday issues including business funding; direct sales; audio and Brexit-related import and export challenges. There will be a particular focus on wellbeing; with a special session on promoting mental health and preventing burnout in stressful times. The Conference will be hosted on a state-of-the-art digital platform; with a combination of live and pre-recorded content. Much of it will be streamed in parallel sessions to ensure that material is tailored for different sectors and levels of experience. The platform will have many interactive features to help delegates network with one another and engage with leading publishers; suppliers and service providers. Content from the Conference will be accessible after the event to allow access by people who were unable to attend sessions in real time.
