Suicide Bereavement UK’s 10th Annual International Conference Entitled ‘Suicide Bereavement: Thinking Out of the Box!’

Suicide Bereavement UK (SBUK) and Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust are collaborating to host the 10th international suicide bereavement conference entitled: ‘Suicide Bereavement: Thinking out of the Box!’ Nine speakers will be presenting; and will include four workshops. This event focuses on science; lived-experience and practice. The arts (poetry; music and quilting) will be used to engage delegates. We will be presenting ground-breaking research; presented for the first time. We have international speakers from Australia and Germany. The following issues will be discussed: Implications of losing a mother to suicide; the needs of older adults bereaved by suicide; the pandemic and implications for those bereaved by suicide; guilt; blame moral injury; tattoos; safety planning; the importance of speaking out and innovative ways to engage with stigmatised groups.
