Dairy Matters: Nourishing Girls and Women for a Healthy Future
20 Mar 2024
About the event
To celebrate International Women’s Day; we bring together the research on dairy and health for women and girls. Dairy products provide valuable nutrients; such as calcium; protein; and iodine; during the critical stages of growth and development; pregnancy; breastfeeding; and menopause. Their micronutrient contribution to maternal diets can help secure a healthy child at birth; provide energy and nutrients for breastfeeding; and protect musculoskeletal and cardiometabolic health later in life. This webinar will discuss dairy nutrition and health benefits for women and girls across the life course and dig deeper to explore the evidence and practical advice around dairy consumption and women’s health.
Dairy UK is a processor-led organisation representing farmer-owned co-ops and private dairy companies producing safe, nutritious and sustainable dairy foods. Our members collect and process milk produced in the UK.
Part of our remit is to disseminate evidence-based information on dairy nutrition to consumers, healthcare professionals, the media, and industry. Dairy UK webinars, conferences, events, seminars are designed and delivered by registered nutritionists and dietitians, and academics.
