We have been asking our members from across the industries the reasons why they became a CPD provider. This CPD Member case study was provided by International Capital Market Association (ICMA). For more information please visit their CPD Member Directory page.

Please provide us with a brief overview of your organisation. What do you do?

ICMA Education - the training arm of the International Capital Market Association, a global trade association with over 600 institutional members covering more than 60 jurisdictions - has been setting the standard of training excellence in the capital markets for almost five decades with professional development courses covering primary and secondary capital markets for front, middle and back-office staff. At the centre of global capital markets, ICMA's mission is to promote resilient well-functioning international and globally coherent cross-border debt securities markets, which are essential to fund sustainable economic growth and development.

Why did you become a CPD provider?

Our training programmes are developed by market experts and based on ICMA standards that reflect market and regulatory best practice - in other words, we provide professionals with practical training that reflects real world market and regulatory standards. Becoming accredited by The CPD Certification Service - one of the largest accrediting organisations for professional development training globally - offers our delegates an extra layer of assurance in the quality of our programmes, adding value to their overall experience.

How did you implement CPD accreditation in your organisation?

We treated the CPD accreditation process as quality assurance activity, giving us the opportunity to look at our training courses holistically and consider our development and delivery processes from a new perspective. While accreditation took time and is an ongoing process with new courses being added regularly, it provided us with a really useful framework with which to align the different components of our programmes - from the usability of our registration process through to the efficacy of our feedback forms!

How has CPD helped your organisation achieve its learning objectives?

As a training provider, CPD has helped us add value to our delegates experience by providing a quality framework with which to align our courses, ensuring the learning experience has a discernible impact on their careers.
