About the CPD course
The Andalusian Thuluth Calligraphy course introduces participants to one of the most sophisticated and dynamic styles of Arabic calligraphy. Renowned for its elegance and fluidity; Andalusian Thuluth reflects the rich artistic legacy of Islamic Spain. The course covers the historical context and technical foundations of this script; enabling students to craft balanced and aesthetically pleasing letters and compositions. Participants will practice using traditional tools and methods to create harmonious designs; progressing from individual letters to complete artworks. By the end of the course; students will have a deep understanding of Thuluth’s principles and produce their own unique calligraphic piece.
The School of Calligraphy and Ornamentation is a new specialised art school in Fujairah, UAE under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Alsharqi.
The school offers a number of workshops and various programs dedicated to the traditional arts of the book that include calligraphy, ornamentation, gilding, miniature painting and bookmaking crafts.
These courses are open to adults interested in learning these artistic skills from anywhere in the world.
