We have been asking our members from across the industries the reasons why they became a CPD provider. This CPD Member case study was provided by Children Heard and Seen. For more information, please visit their CPD Member Directory page.
Please provide us with a brief overview of your organisation. What do you do?
We support children impacted by parental imprisonment and those who care for them in their own community. We aim to reduce intergenerational crime by providing child-centred, tailored and strengths based interventions.
Why did you become a CPD provider?
As a small charity we are always keen to have multiple funding streams and establishing our own training arm is one aspect of this. Achieving CPD accreditation for our training packages ensures they have been rigorously assessed for quality against high standards. This makes us feel more confident about our products when promoting them to colleagues who may participate in our training. The additional benefits of being included in the CPD website, CPD certification and other opportunities to promote our work make our membership priceless.
How did you implement CPD accreditation in your organisation?
The responsibility for implementation was across the team with two colleagues leading. Everyone within the organisation was aware of the process and supportive of it. We are in the process of securing funding for a full time trainer who will take ultimate responsibility for this area of work.
How has CPD helped your organisation achieve its learning objectives?
All of the team are encouraged and supported in undertaking regular CPD, the website provides information about sector specific training that is relevant to our area. Knowing the providers have been accredited gives us confidence any training we undertake will be of a high standard.
