About the CPD course
This course gives housing options teams the knowledge; skills and tools to ensure all victim/survivors receive a safe; coordinated and trauma-informed response when they present as homeless. It has been designed specifically for housing options teams in local authorities and acknowledges some of the common barriers these teams face in recognising and responding to customers who present as homeless due to domestic abuse. Delegates will gain awareness of what coercive control is and how the patterns of abuse impact the survivor/victim. Module 2 enables housing options teams to explore what a safe and trauma-informed response looks like in practice.
The Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance (DAHA) was established in 2014 as a partnership between Standing Together Against Domestic Abuse (STADA), Gentoo and Peabody housing associations. We are the leading specialist domestic abuse organisation offering training suitable for local authorities and social housing providers to improve their response to domestic abuse. We use our practice-based experience to work alongside partners across the housing and domestic abuse sector to influence policy and national decision making through our DAHA-led National Domestic Abuse & Housing Policy and Practice Group.
